Built from engineering heritage
Before founding AMTECS, Myles Young spent more than a decade leading AEG's Motors and Drives division in the UK, helping it become one of the company's most successful business units.
When AEG closed its UK operations in 1996, Myles took the opportunity to preserve the expertise, relationships and customer-focused approach that had made the division so successful.
That decision formed AMTECS.
Built on technical knowledge, trusted partnerships and a commitment to doing things the right way, the business has grown steadily ever since while remaining proudly independent and family-led.

The History of AMTECS
2026
In the years approaching our 30th Anniversary, while our business continues to evolve, our outward presence hadn’t kept pace.
In many ways, we were the industry’s best-kept secret.
We took the opportunity to refine how we present ourselves, bringing greater clarity to what we stand for, how we work, and the role we play for our customers.
2023
Marked 20 years in strategic partnership with BARTEC, one of our longest-standing partner relationships.
As a global leader in explosion protection and safety technology in hazardous areas, BARTEC’s products ensure people, the environment, and assets are protected every single day and mirrors the AMTECS promise.
2010
Over the course of 2 years, we completed our headquarter facility, increasing our capacity for equipment and improving facilities for our team.
2008
The late 2000s was a period of exponential growth for AMTECS, with the purchase and beginning of construction of our bespoke facility at Tealgate on the outskirts of Hungerford.
2000
AMTECS broke through the millenium opening a satellite facility in Stockport, recognising the importance of our customers in the north of England.
1998
By 1998, AMTECS had expanded operations into a new warehouse and office facility in Eddington on the outskirts of Hungerford, strategically located for easy access to the M4 and the main trunk roads to the port of Southampton.
1996
AMTECS was established in 1996 when founder Myles Young took over AEG's highly successful UK Motors and Drives division following the closure of its UK operations.
Bringing together an experienced team and decades of industry expertise, he built a business founded on quality, reliability and customer service — values that continue to define AMTECS today.
